Brooke Tefft serves as the Inspector General, overseeing the Office of Inspector General (OIG). In her role, she is responsible for planning, directing, and carrying out audits and investigative functions for the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.

Tefft rejoined the St. Johns County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Office in 2023 as a senior auditor. She was promoted to Director of Audit in 2024 before taking on her current position as Inspector General. With over 22 years of experience in accounting and auditing across both the private and public sectors, Tefft is a seasoned professional.

She resides in St. Augustine with her husband, Gary, and their son, Mason. Tefft earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Flagler College and an MBA with a concentration in accounting and finance from Jacksonville University. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.
