On Oct. 15, the community came together to celebrate the fourth annual St. Johns County–Israel Friendship Day. Held at the St. Johns County Administration Building, the event was a heartfelt gathering that honored the longstanding relationship between our community and Israel.
The program featured remarks from local leaders, including Commissioner Sarah Arnold and representatives from the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida, who emphasized the importance of unity, friendship, and shared values. Rabbi Mendel Sharfstein, Rabbi Benjamin Dyme, Rabbi Nochum Kurinsky, Deputy Consul General Ayellet Black, and Sheriff Robert A. Hardwick also contributed their insights and reflections during the event.
St. Johns County has a rich history of Jewish contributions dating back to the 16th century, and the celebration served as a testament to the cultural diversity and inclusivity that defines the region.
A special thank you goes out to all participants and attendees for their support in making this day a success. For those who couldn’t attend, you can watch the event highlights by clicking here.
We look forward to continuing this tradition of partnership in the years to come.
